Whether you're taking your first steps into the world of online auctions or you're a seasoned auction veteran, there's nothing quite like the excitement of a live auction. Our team of trusted experts are on hand to help, wherever you are in the world: from browsing our rare and exquisite collections, to learning about your chosen item, and then placing a successful bid online - all in real-time and from the comfort of your own home.
Sign up to receive a notification the very moment our future sale catalogues go live.
You can register to bid in real-time from wherever you are in the world via our online bidding platform - Dawsons Live. You will be able to live stream the auction; watch and listen to the auctioneer, and then just click to bid. Simply set up your account, select an auction and complete your application before the sale starts. Once registered you will also be able to leave absentee bids and book telephone bids online using your account.
Note that there are no additional bidding charges when registered and utilising Dawsons Live.
If you’d like to bid by telephone, please get in touch a minimum of 24 hours before the auction and one of our team will call you on the day so you can bid live over the phone.
If you’re unable to bid live, you’re welcome to contact us with an absentee bid (also known as a commission bid) in advance of the auction. The auctioneer will then execute your bids as cheaply as possible on the day, other bids and reserves permitting. You can also leave absentee bids here.
If you’re a successful bidder then your winning item will be yours to take away after purchase. The final amount payable for saleroom, telephone and absentee bids will include the hammer price (the auction sale price) and the buyer’s premium.
Online bids include an extra 3% - 4.95% charged by the bidding platform.
There is no additional charge when registered and bidding through Dawsons Live.
You may pay by bank transfer, cash on collection, or by debit or credit card. Alternatively, if you’re bidding online, you will receive an invoice by email after the sale and a link to pay online.
In terms of shipping throughout the UK, we can provide a Royal Mail Special Delivery option for small non-breakable items - please contact us for a quote.
For all other items (& international shipping requirements), we suggest either: Mailboxes Etc. or Pack & Send delivery and collection services. Please remember that they will require the lot number, sale date, and shipping address to offer a quote.
Our team of industry experts are on hand to help you.
