DAWSONS SELL ROLLING STONES POSTER FOR £30,000

A world record result

In October 2021, a poster which was used by legendary rock band the Rolling Stones to promote one of their gigs at the Ricky Tick R&B club night in the Thames Hotel in Windsor back in the 1960s, went under the hammer at Dawsons.  A frenetic bidding war ensued, with plenty of online interest and five telephone bidders.

The hammer eventually fell once the price had soared to £30,000... This fantastic price was a new world record price for a Stones poster sold at auction - the previous record having been £15,000! Needless to say, our client was understandably ecstatic at the wonderful price that the Dawsons team achieved on their behalf.

The national press immediately jumped on the story which graced the headlines of a number of newspapers.

RARE PAINTING DISCOVERED IN A LONDON HOUSE SELLS FOR £255,000

A life-changing result for our client

In March 2022, national and international news outlets were astonished by the story of a 16th century renaissance painting discovered hanging above a bed in a North London bungalow that went on to sell for £255,000 at Dawsons. The background to the extraordinary painting and it's subsequent sale price was truly heartwarming; the vendor was suffering from dementia and her family were keen to provide improved care and accommodation to make her life more comfortable, but increased costs had made this impossible...

However, as a direct result of the incredible sale price achieved for our vendor, she would no longer have to worry about her ongoing and costly nursing care – much to the relief of her family. Fittingly, given the subject matter of the painting itself, this piece really turned out to be a godsend to them all.
