In 1874, in the small village of La Côte-aux-Fées, Georges Edouard Piaget set up a workshop producing fine pocketwatches and movements for clocks. It wasn't 1911 under the stewardship of his son, Timothée, that Piaget started manufacturing the exceptional wristwatches that the brand has become known for today. Pioneering by nature, the years between the 1950's-1970's saw the popularity of the brand increase exponentially, with the release of watches such as the Emperador, and the iconic Polo, together with the worlds first ultrathin movements.
More recently, their reworking of the Polo in 2016 has seen Piaget placed firmly in the luxury steel watch market, alongside the likes of Patek Philipe and Rolex, marking a major milestone in the 150 year history of the brand.
