The team at Dawsons are consciously aware of the important role Museums and Historic Sites carry in the wider community. Indeed, ensuring that items with significant historical provenance continue to be enjoyed today also forms a large part of our world as Valuers & Auctioneers, we want those (often hidden away and forgotten) items to find loving homes once again, where they are displayed and enjoyed.

With no financial support from local or national government, we recognise that financially you rely on the generosity of supporters and visitors. Fully understanding of the monetary pressures that Museums and Historic Sites face, our aim is simple… We want to help you generate the additional revenue needed to ensure the longevity of your operation.

HOW DAWSONS CAN HELP
  • Advice & Support: We can help your organisation to set up a legacy scheme for items of value that supporters or visitors may wish to donate or gift to you, but which are not suitable for display.
  • Additional Revenue: a route to sell donated or gifted items unsuitable for display that have an auction value.
  • Free Valuations: Complimentary, discrete, and current market valuations in-person or remotely – to help identify items not suitable for display, but that may be suitable for sale at auction.
  • Collection Service: Offering a free collection of those items identified as being suitable for sale at auction.
  • Zero Seller’s Fees: We agree to waive our Seller’s Fee (17.5%), meaning that you will receive 100% of the hammer price achieved (sale price) of items we auction on your behalf.
  • Event Support:  We can help increase footfall at certain fund-raising events you may be planning; providing experienced speakers (auction industry experts) from within our team to talk around topics of interest.

“The National Motor Museum Trust is committed to promoting education, research, and conservation in motoring history for the benefit of everyone. As a charity, and with no core government funding, we rely on supporters and visitors to help us achieve these goals. With Dawsons help, the team at Beaulieu have created a wonderful memorial / legacy scheme for those who wish to donate a vehicle specifically to support the work we do. “Memorial Motors” gives the option for such legacy gifts which are outside our collecting policy, to be sold, with 100% of the sale price achieved at auction going to the Museum.

We even have an option for any valuable item(s) (i.e. Jewellery, Watches, Art, Antiques and Collectibles) from a legacy estate to be sold at auction with Dawsons, again, with 100% of the sale price achieved going to the National Motor Museum! We would highly recommend you talk to Dawsons, they can help your institution to generate much needed additional funds.”
