An early to mid 19th-century amethyst and rock crystal parure; comprising a necklace with detachable pendant fitting, a brooch, a pair of pendant earrings and a single-stone amethyst clasp; The necklace of graduated oval mixed-cut amethysts in cut-down settings, within borders of mixed old-cut rock crystals in gilt mounts; the pendant earrings with later post fittings; necklace overall 41.0 cm long, brooch 4.2 cm wide, earrings 3.4 cm drop; in fitted red Morocco leather case, bearing the initials F.M.B. for Florence Byrom (it comes to the present owner by direct descent).
