The interior is fitted with a small carriage timepiece; six various silver mounted etched glass jars and a scent bottle; two further silver gilt jars, a hairbrush, a pair of clothes brushes, a hand mirror, a silver mounted comb, a shoehorn, two button hooks, a crocodile jewellery box and correspondence wallet. All monogrammed 'AM' (possibly stands for Annie Webber Maxwell, sister of Lady McMillan). London hallmarks, predominantly 1913.
Together with newspaper cuttings and associated paperwork revealing the development and aftermath of the death of Sir William Northrup McMillan who died in Nice, in 1925. Including written notes and cablegrams between the family members and his business partner William Bixby.

Lady McMillan, the wife of the British American adventurer and Kenyan settler Sir William Northrup McMillan, kept cheetahs, lions and leopards on her property and used to host dignitaries such as Winston Churchill and Theodore Roosevelt who travelled to Kenya on hunting expeditions. After her husband's death, she commissioned Nairobi's McMillian Memorial Library in his name, also gave the McMillan Nurses' Institute and the Louise Decker Memorial Homes, and was a steadfast supporter of many charitable and other organizations.
