A late Victorian opal, pearl and enamel pendant on chain, featuring a large polished precious opal square plaque of 28.0 x 26.0 x 6.3 mm, displaying play-of-colour mainly ranging from green to purple on a light ground, set within a polychromatic enamelled surround with scrolled columns and a pair of cherubs, surmounted with a blister pearl and dangling a pearl drop below, in yellow metal testing as 18ct, 6.7 cm drop length; the enamel loop bail attached to a 48.5 cm long fancy link chain marked '15ct' with an associated spring ring clasp, cased in a "Dibdin & Co. Ltd 189 Sloane Street SW1" box, 52.2 grams.
