The Beatles: a 1960s autograph book containing many signatures of artists who appeared at the Top Rank Ballroom in Nottingham, signed (apparently in Paul McCartney's hand) 'To Betty, best wishes, The Beatles', with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr on one page, and two pages later (by Neil Aspinall, their road manager), with 'George Harrison' and 'John Lennon', Roy Orbison, four members of the Yardbirds (Jeff Beck, Paul Samwell-Smith, Chris Dreja and Keith Relf), Freddie & the Dreamers (on a tipped in black and white postcard), Beverley Mills, The Bachelors, Lonnie Donegan, John Gorman (The Scaffold), The Walker Brothers (Scott, John & Gary), Mrs Mills, and others, together with loose postcard further signed by The Bachelors, and loose notebook pages variously signed (names indistinct).
The signatures were obtained by 'Betty', who worked in the office at the Ballroom and was married to Harry Chapman, the manager at the time. The book has been retained in the family by descent.
