A unique and comprehensive collection of archive material, illustrating the creative process of Vivian Stanshall and the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, a small red-covered notebook labelled 'Stanshall', containing Bonzos setlists, lyrics for the unreleased Bonzos track ‘It Was A Great Party Until Someone Found A Hammer’, handwritten music to include 'I’m Bored', 'Jollity Farm', 'Equestrian Statue', 'By a Waterfall', 'Humanoid Boogie',' Busted', 'Ali Baba’s Camel', 'Swanee', 'Button up your Overcoat and many others, (1965–69), a small blue notebook containing Bonzos setlists, Bonzos notes, band sketches, lyrics for Ali Baba’s Camel and others, (1966-67), and a black-covered book containing handwritten music for 'Death Cab for Cutie' and 'Piggy Bank Love', handwritten early drafts of 'Canyons of Your Mind', 'Humanoid Boogie', plus a first draft of 'Mr Wonderful', music and lyrics for unreleased Bonzos songs – including 'Boo, Horace the Hermit' and 'Princess Anne', sketches of Bonzo bandmates, notes for Top Gear (John Peel) appearance, notes and drafts for BBC Colour Me Pop, New Faces plus ‘children’ version of 'Canyons...' for Do Not Adjust Your Set, notes in German for Beat Club appearance (German TV), and notes and introductions for Bonzos London Palladium show (1967-68).
