Lot 297 - Pure Evil (Charles Uzzell Edwards, b.1968),...

Pure Evil (Charles Uzzell Edwards, b.1968), British The artist's proof of the 'Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Bastards', based on the iconic cover of The Beatles' 'Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' album cover designed by Peter Blake and Jann Haworth in 1967, signed and tagged and marked 'AP' in pencil, 57.8cm wide 62cm high, together with a limited edition jigsaw puzzle comprised of 500 printed card pieces in a card box numbered by hand 42 from an edition of 100, and tagged and signed by Pure Evil, box 33cm wide, and with a Certificate of Authenticity issued and signed by Pure Evil (3) This image was kicked off when the artist read that each of The Beatles was given a choice as to who to include in the original line-up on the album cover. Amongst others, Lennon chose Hitler, which was enormously unpopular with his other band members, and with Blake and Haworth. Even though the figure was made and included, it was hidden behind the band on the photoshoot and cannot be seen. As a result, Pure Evil resolved to include the very worst personalities from history in his version... UNIQUE STREET ART WORKS FROM THE STUDIO OF PURE EVIL The following nine lots are from the studio of street artist Pure Evil (Charles Uzzell Edwards, b.1968) in East London, and include artist's proofs, test proofs, trials or prototypes, and unique works. These works have never been offered for sale before, having been in the artist's collection at the studio, and thus this represents a rare opportunity to own unique pieces by one of Britain's best-known street artists that otherwise would not be sold.

Sold for £300
