An unusual pair of 18th Norwegian gold, rock crystal and enamel mourning buckles; the oval slides containing plaited hair applied with entwined monograms, within applied scrolling foliate cartouches, the whole beneath a bevelled rock crystal cover, within an open leaf mounted border set with faceted rock crystals and with traces of applied white enamel decoration, the reverses with slides to accommodate ribbons and apertures to receive clips - (clips now absent). Carrying assay marks of 1775 Bergen city mark, assayer mark and Taurus zodiac monthly mark.
