A late 17th century brass lantern clock, unsigned, the strapped bell over acorn finials, dolphin frets, tulip engraved central dial with central alarm dial, weight driven movement with bob pendulum, 40 cm high x 17 cm wide.

Condition Report

The clock has obviously had running repairs over the years but for the most part is period, the bell is a replacement and the alarm feature does not show any increments on the central dial or dial point also the rear spurs/pikes are missing from the back feet. I have looked for foundry marks on the wheel work but can not see anything that might point to a particular maker.


The chain is a replacement for the original jute rope.
Please bear in mind that this clock although seemingly intact may require work to make good as is the case with any old mechanical device.
