Robert Mouseman Thompson (1876-1955): An English oak firescreen, with a tapestry hunting scene inset, and engraved '1938', a carved mouse on the top handle, 82 cm high x 51 cm wide, together with two 'Mouseman' carved oak ashtrays, 10 cm x 7.5 cm.

Each item given as a gift by Robert Thompson himself, to the vendor's parents as a wedding gift in 1938. They lived locally to him and were friends.

Condition Report

Screen with light surface wear and marks, commensurate with age. Structurally sound. The needlework is likely to be contemporary to the piece, given the provenance. Wear to the ashtrays.
