James Stewart starred in eighty films during his film career from 1935 to1991. He received the Academy Award for Best Actor for George Cukor’s romantic comedy, The Philadelphia Story (1940), and was Oscar nominated for his roles in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), It’s A Wonderful Life (1946), Harvey (1950), and Anatomy of a Murder (1959).
