A Japanese carved wood travelling shrine (Zushi) in the form of a lotus pod, opening to reveal a carved and polychromic Manjushri seated upon a double lotus socle above a lion and in the opposite half, Tara seated in Bhumisparsha on a double lotus socle above an elephant. 8 cm long x 4.6 cm wide.
