Condition Report

Original purchase receipts and sale note from Bugatty Art Deco of Deauville describe this lamp as bronze (see additional images). The metal figure is hollow with a patinated finish, and the edges of the bowl for the shade also show some of the metal beneath, which is bronze in colour. Compared to the marble base there is weight to the metal figure.

There is a 'Le Verrier Paris' foundry mark next to the signature. The shade looks to be original with the glass approximately 7mm thick. The light fitting inside the shade looks to be relatively modern with plastic parts, as is the light switch. The cable has an 'Ediswan Clix Patents' two pin plug attached to a UK three pin adapter.

Abrasions to the legs and to the corners of the metal base - see images.
