The wonderful contents were specifically sourced for what was arguably one of London’s grandest private residences, and one which had been lovingly refurbished by the clients – with the help of two renowned interior designers...

Nicky Haslam, described as ‘Britain’s ultimate interior designer’ had taken particular care in sourcing appropriate antiques and other contents when helping to furnish this wonderful home.

Colette Van Den Thillart, a partner of the Nicky Haslam Studio, worked alongside Nicky to create a playful yet sympathetic interior to a 17^th century Grade II* listed building.

This sale truly provided something for everyone, from fine ceramics to toleware trays, decorative lighting to a chinoiserie piano. Dawsons’ Auctioneer, Harrison Goldman said “We are delighted to report our recent contents of a Chelsea mansion auction was a white glove sale. Both Dawsons and the vendor are thrilled to see all of these beautifully made and well-chosen pieces on their way to new homes”.

With 100% of the lots within our auction having been sold, it is what we call in the auction world a ‘white glove sale’. Indeed, over 50% of lots sold above their upper estimate. The sale attracted a huge amount of interest both in the UK and internationally, with many eager buyers from around the world bidding online and via the telephone to secure some truly wonderful items.
